Dive Housing and Filter Kits for Action Cameras

Save with Dive Housing & Filter Kits for GoPro, DJI & Insta360. Essential for Scuba diving beyond 10m and restoring vibrant colours to underwater footage. Get professional protection and colour correction in one cost-effective bundle.

Action Cameras are used for an almost endless range of activities limited only by your imagination. Water-based activities are among the most popular.

While early model GoPro Cameras (GoPro HD Hero to HERO4) came with a separate Waterproof housing, the more recent model Action Cameras are waterproof "out of the box". However, an additional Dive Housing is an essential upgrade for anyone looking to explore the depths or provide maximum protection for their gear.

This category includes Kits that include a Housing AND filters, rather than buying them separately.

Value Kits: Whenever available, it is usually more cost-effective to purchase a Dive Housing + Filter Kit together. If a kit isn't listed for your model, we may also stock housings and filters separately in their respective categories.

Why Use a Dive Housing?

  • Added Protection: Many users choose a housing even for above-water activities to protect against high-impact bumps, scrapes, and debris.
  • Deep Diving: Most modern action cameras are only waterproof to 10m. For Scuba Diving, a dedicated Dive Housing is required to reach depths of up to 60 metres.

Why use Filters?

  • Colour Correction: As you go deeper underwater, the red light spectrum is lost. Our kits include filters that attach to your housing to help colour-correct your footage, bringing vibrant reds and oranges back to your underwater videos. This can apply to snorkelling, Free diving and especially Scuba Diving.

Depth Ratings by Brand

GoPro Cameras: The earlier model GoPro cameras (HD HERO to HERO4) came with a waterproof housing to protect the camera when used in and around water. The HD HERO, Hero2 and HERO3 Housings were all waterproof down to 60 metres, enabling them to be used for deep Scuba Diving.

The majority of recreational Scuba divers don't ever go down that far, so when the GoPro HERO3+ and HERO4 were released, the new Standard Housing was made smaller and lighter and was only depth rated to 40 metres.

The release of the HERO5 revolutionised the cameras. The camera was released without a housing at all. The camera itself was waterproof down to a maximum depth of 10 metres. This made the cameras suitable for just about all other shallow water-based activities, except Scuba Diving.

For Scuba diving with the later GoPro Camera models (HERO Session Cameras, HERO5, HERO (2018), HERO6, HERO7, HERO8, HERO9, HERO10, HERO11, HERO12, HERO13, HERO (2024) and GoPro Lite HERO), you will need to purchase a DIVE housing.

DJI Action Cameras: DJI Action Cameras are rated down to the following depths:

  • DJI Osmo Action 1: 10m without a waterproof case, 60m with a DIVE Housing.
  • DJI Action 2: 10m without a waterproof case, 60m with a DIVE Housing.
  • DJI Action 3: 16 meters without the Waterproof Case, 60 meters with a DIVE Housing
  • DJI Action 4: 18 meters without the Waterproof Case, 60 meters with a DIVE Housing.
  • DJI Action 5 Pro: 20 meters without the Waterproof Case, 60 meters with a DIVE Housing.

Insta360 Action Cameras: Insta360 Action Cameras are rated down to the following depths:

  • Insta360 Ace: 10m without a waterproof case, 60m with a DIVE Housing.
  • Insta360 Ace Pro: 10m without a waterproof case, 60m with a DIVE Housing.
  • Insta360 Ace Pro 2: 12m without a waterproof case, 60m with a DIVE Housing.
