The ULANZI CC02 SD/MicroSD Memory Card Reader & Storage Case (Model: CC02) solves the problem every action camera owner knows. Your footage lives on microSD cards the size of a fingernail; you carry several of them on any decent trip, and they can be easy to mix up or misplace. The CC02 is a semi-transparent case the size of a credit card that holds up to seven cards in moulded slots — and it is also a card reader, so the same object that carries your spares is the one you plug into a laptop to offload them. At 96 x 64.1 x 11.6mm and 65g it goes in a pocket, a wallet sleeve or the front compartment of a camera bag.

The reader is a single UHS-II SDXC slot running at up to 312MB/s, which moves a 1GB file in about three seconds. It reads one card at a time — that is the trade-off for a case this size — and microSD cards go through the included UHS-II microSD-to-SD adapter in the same slot, so there is nothing extra to buy. An LED indicator shows you the reader has power and is working, and it is bus-powered and plug-and-play: no drivers, no separate power supply.

Inside, the case holds four microSD cards across the bottom and two full-size SD cards above them. The microSD-to-SD adapter can travel inside the case or stay parked in the reader slot, and it will carry a microSD card of its own while it does — which is how the CC02 gets to seven cards at once. The 15cm braided USB-C cable is permanently attached, with a moulded recess the angled connector clips snugly into, leaving the cable as a loop you can hook a finger through. The back of the case is also magnetic and will sit on a MagSafe-compatible phone while you transfer. Being straight with you about that hold: on our own iPhone 13 Pro, the bare magnets are fine for a transfer at a desk, but we would not walk around with it attached that way — fit the included magnetic adapter ring for a firmer grip.
