ULANZI CR2 Rugged SD/MicroSD Memory Card Reader Case

The ULANZI CR2 Rugged SD/MicroSD Memory Card Reader Case (Model: CR2) carries your cards and reads them, so there is no separate dongle to find before you can offload. It has dedicated slots to store eleven cards — five SD, four microSD and two Nano SIM. It can even take two more in the reader slots (making that 13 cards total).

The reader slots are one UHS-II SDXC slot and one UHS-II microSDXC slot; both work at the same time, so an SD card and a microSD card import simultaneously. With UHS-II or SD 4.0 cards and a host that can keep up, transfer runs at up to 312MB/s — about a gigabyte in three seconds. Older UHS-I cards still work, at their own rated speed.

Storage is split front and back. The front holds three SD and two microSD; the underside holds another two SD, two microSD and two Nano SIM cards, every slot fully recessed so nothing works loose in a bag. The SIM slots are the useful surprise — swapping to a local SIM overseas usually means finding somewhere safe for the one you took out, and the card ejector pin stows in the case alongside it.

The housing is aluminium alloy under an impact-absorbing silicone cover, with a sealed pull-out tray and an IP54 rating — dust and splashes are not a problem.

The USB-C cable is built into the body, tangle-free and always with the reader rather than loose in a bag. A USB-C to USB-A adapter is in the box for older computers, along with a carabiner for clipping it to a bag.
